Have you ever had one of those days, weeks, MONTHS? Where you just can't get anything done in the few hours you have after work. That is how I have been feeling lately. Too much to get done after dinner each night. So I took yesterday off work. Wednesdays are kind of slow at work anyway so I wouldn't really be missed.
What a great day I had! It went so incredibly fast though! I kept watching the clock thinking, "only three hours until the kids are home! I have got to get more done!" I did get some things done that have been hanging out there for several months. See, we had done some remodel work down stairs over the summer/fall. My "office space" was torn apart and most of the paperwork that was on my desk ended up in a box in the laundry space in the basement. Yesterday I went through about four boxes of "junk". Well, most of it was junk but there were receipts mixed in that I need for farm expenses.
My office space is almost all put together. Now I am just trying to convince the Shepherd that I need the Neatdesk to get rid of all this paper! How wonderful it would be to scan all the receipts and shred the paper! What a time saver it would be at year end to pull a report of all those receipts that I scanned in!
I titled this post Taking Time Off but it should probably be titled something like Getting Organized. I wish I had taken pictures of the total disaster and then what I had after spending the day on it. What a difference a day can make! If you had a day to take off and get caught up, what would you do? Leave us a comment and share with us what is weighing on your plate.
